Just a little blog to try and communicate what we are accomplishing here, and also what we are trying to accomplish. Not much, just a self-sustained life full of peace and love and all that other "hippy" nonsense. What we are looking for really, is just a better Happier world for our kids. Don't you want the same? We've been at this for a few months, so some of this will be catch-up, don't get bored or bitchy, just try and keep up. Peace and Love Y'all

Homemade Laundry Soap.....all I need to say

So I have been making my own homemade laundry soap for a couple of years now. I Love It......No other laundry soap can match the cleaning power of this stuff. Most of the time I make it into a liquid, but this time I am going to make it into a powder because of space issues. I am going to post a link to someone elses site to show you what I use and I use the same mixture he does for the most part, the only difference is that I do not use any oils or scent mixtures in my soap. I actually like the way the Fels Naptha soap smells, but I do use Downy Fabric softner.
So if you do decide to make the soap, I hope it works as well for you as it does for me, on top of the fact that it saves us a ton of money on laundry soap. My initial investment is about $15-20.00. and it last me about 7-8 months for a family of 5 who lives in the woods and always has really dirty clothes.
Good Luck

Food storage.....Oh My....

So Jordan and I have been prepping food for storing. We have been recycling the kids capri sun packets, we cut off the tops just under the straw hole and the Jordan washed the out and let them dry. Then we measured out 1/2 cup of rice and 1 beef or chicken bullion cube and place it in a pouch with an oxygen absorber, then we sealed then off with a hair straightener.
I have also been using a food dehydrator and dehydrating apples, pears and strawberries for fruit pouches.
The need to be blanched in a sugar water mixture made up of two cups of water and 2 cups of sugar. for about 15 minutes before putting in the food dehydrator. Then I left them in the food dehydrator for 16 hours now they will be put in to the packets as well along with an oxygen absorber.
We are putting these away for an emergency situation in our Bug Out Bags.
The kids have been making there own bug out bags. I am so proud of them, I think it is awesome that my kids have enough brains to try and stayed prepared for anything.

  • Now for the task at hand, We are trying to come up with a name for the kennel....Something Strong and unique. I am having a few issues with this which is why I am reaching out for help. It seems like every name i like someone else already has it. They are large dogs with a strong will and incredible character and an amazing history. We have never had better dogs, which is the reason we have decided to breed them. Please help me out on my quest for an amazing name. Your help will be much appreciated.
  • This is Midus, he is the daddy of the puppies, he weighs 160lbs and is a beast. I will be adding Kharma Jean's photo soon as I have none of her grown at this moment. But she Weighs 124 lbs and is red brindle in color.
