Just a little blog to try and communicate what we are accomplishing here, and also what we are trying to accomplish. Not much, just a self-sustained life full of peace and love and all that other "hippy" nonsense. What we are looking for really, is just a better Happier world for our kids. Don't you want the same? We've been at this for a few months, so some of this will be catch-up, don't get bored or bitchy, just try and keep up. Peace and Love Y'all

Our Mountain

These are some photos of the mountain. Hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoy being here. Some of these are the mountain itself and some are at a place we call The Falls where we go swimming. And yes you can come visit, but no you can't stay. ha ha

We put up our wind turbine a few months ago and its still going. Our friends Dave and James helped us put it together and get it up.
So this week we have been working on our power situation and water. Finally got the water pump going again and we have about 500 gallons of water as of right now, Yay. Now we are moving on to the power side of things as this seems to be a constant battle for us not being hooked up to the grid. We finally got our solar panels, we got 2 24 Volt panels which are each 224 watts. We also got 4 more 6Volt batteries to add up to have a total of 6 for our power system. Now we get to start hooking it all up together. Hope we are ready for this new adventure of actually having power without using the generator all the time. I can't wait. might actually get to save some money not having to buy so much gas all the time. I will be posting pictures when we are done building a box for the panels and batteries, it is going to look like a small house.

So our awesome water pump froze and busted wide open...sucked....We have been working on it for two days now trying to get back up and running and finally again it is pumping up free water. We had to take the pump apart and get new pvc for it and glue it all back together. Lesson learned, when the temperature drops to freezing...unhook the water pump.
